Our History

Citymart.com is the result of a journey that started in 2003 as an initiative to promote cities as real-life laboratories for services in cities.

In 2008, Living Labs Global was formed as a non-profit association in Denmark with the focus on building a global marketplace for innovations in cities. Citymart.com was launched as a technology start-up in January 2011. Since November 2012, Citymart.com supersedes the Living Labs Global brand to be followed by the integration of both organisations into a single legal entity by May 2013.

Our Partners and Supporters make this happen.

A growing group of companies, organization and individuals are providing us the advice and support to achieve our mission.

Our Books & Publications

We have published two books to help stakeholders in cities better understand and manage innovation, market development and strategy across sectors.

Connected Cities: Your 256 Billion Euro Dividend.

How innovation in services and mobility contributes to the sustainability of our cities.

A handbook.

Mobility is not a technology, but a paradigm shift. The user, as citizen, professional, or visitor is in a state of mobility represented by the ubiquity of mobile phones in our society. Why this book asks, have highly appreciated services like mobile parking, tourism services, or solutions for the visually impaired not taken off despite the astronomical investments into digital infrastructures in the past decade? Why, have these infrastructures not had the productivity impact that the internet had on our economies, when more than 60% of the world population have access to them?

256 Billion Euro is the sum of opportunity presented in this book, following real business cases and examples of mobility and service innovations in cities. Drawing on the rich insights of Living Labs Global, the book illustrates what defines the market for mobility, neglected by many for its complexity. It logically structures the market opportunities, frustrations and successes, and actors that make or break success into a coherent call for action to fundamentally change how we deliver services in cities.

This book reveals important insights for public leaders, local politicians, service professionals in public and private organisations, entrepreneurs, technology experts, consultants and researchers interested in promoting innovation and excellence in cities today.

"Making local governments in developed countries just 1.5% more efficient would free enough resurces to solve the world's basic problems"

Navigate Change

How new approaches to public procurement will create new markets.

A guidebook.

What is your dividend from the new trends in public procurement?

Navigate Change presents new global approaches to public procurement. These have changed the way regulations and procedures are applied by public authorities and are grouped into four themes:

• Green Public Procurement
• Socially Responsible Procurement
• Procurement for Innovation
• Electronic Public Procurement

A guidebook prepared in collaboration with ACC10, the Catalan Innovation and Competitiveness Agency, and the euroPROC consortium.

"The key challenge is to increase business opportunities for them (SMEs) and enable the public sector to benefit from their innovation and flexibility"
John Conway,
Department for Environment,
Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), United Kindom
